About UsFox Island Salmon Charters LLC is a family owned business based out of Point Defiance in Tacoma Washington, conveniently located near Hwy 16 and Interstate 5. Captain Jim Keith, a lifelong resident of western Washington, has more than 30 years of experience fishing the calm waters of Puget Sound.Captain Jim notes: "Fishing was a passion of my dad, Jim, Sr., and the love of fishing was passed down to me at a young age. As a very young boy I looked forward to summer months and trout fishing with my Dad when he got off work. We would pack up dinner and drive to Seattle’s Green Lake. There we would spend hours watching our bobbers, waiting for them to dive under the water. We usually hooked a few trout. For a preschooler, this was about as good as life gets." Jim continues: "Growing up I would not be able to sleep the night before a salmon trip or a family outing to one of the many Eastern Washington lakes we would travel to with my two sisters. But salmon fishing has always been my first true love. At the age of seven I fished with my Aunt and Uncle at Neah Bay in a 16-foot kicker boat. I also loved to go fishing with my best friend and his dad in North Puget Sound, where I learned the fine art of mooching with cut plug herring off Point No Point. All through my high school years I would get out and fish as much as I could, enjoying every minute on the water with a rod. Today I still get the same jittery feeling before a Salmon Derby or a trip to Snow Creek, but there's an added bonus to my fishing adventures: I get as much of a kick out of watching my clients hook up with a nice fish as they do landing one."
